Guillermo J. Valenzuela, M.D., F.A.C.R.

Guillermo J. Valenzuela, M.D., F.A.C.R., is a board-certified rheumatologist, clinical investigator, Medical Director and CEO of Integral Rheumatology & Immunology Specialists and IRIS Research and Development in South Florida. Trained at the University of Buenos Aires, New York Medical College, and Weill Cornell Medical College, he has built his career at the intersection of patient care, clinical research, and innovation in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

Dr. Valenzuela has served as Principal Investigator on more than 100 clinical trials, contributing to the development of multiple FDA-approved therapies across rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, gout, osteoporosis, and systemic autoimmune diseases. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Arthritis & Rheumatology, Rheumatology, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and The New England Journal of Medicine, reflecting his role in advancing evidence-based therapeutics through global multicenter studies.

He is actively engaged in the evolving role of technology in healthcare, with a focus on how innovation can be responsibly integrated into clinical research and patient care while maintaining scientific rigor and patient trust.

He is also involved in advancing next-generation therapies, including NK cell–based immunotherapy, contributing to the future of targeted immune modulation in autoimmune disease. Through his leadership at IRIS, he has developed a high-performing research infrastructure that brings complex, cutting-edge therapies into the community setting.

Dr. Valenzuela is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and past President of the Florida Society of Rheumatology.
