This workshop shall present and facilitate discussion on the following: • The dynamic processes of promoting healing, homeostasis, and equilibrium, as well as the complex factors that impede and prevent these processes; • A comprehensive approach to addressing the stress response and dysregulation that may occur at all levels of our being and across multiple systems (including the nervous system, endocrine and metabolic function, et al.); and • The inner workings of Acupuncture, East Asian Medicine, and complementary and integrative systems of medicine and healing along with an overview of physiologic mechanisms.

Target Audience

This educational activity is designed for an interprofessional audience of healthcare professionals, including registered nurses (RNs), nurse practitioners (NPs), certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), physician assistants/associates (PAs), pharmacists, registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs), physical therapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs), optometrists, audiologists, acupuncturists, and other healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the physiologic effects of stress and identify evidence-informed integrative strategies that support healing, wellness, and prevention.
