Nutrition on a Budget
This 1-hour live continuing education activity is designed to provide healthcare professionals with a practical, evidence-informed approach to delivering nutrition recommendations in cardiometabolic care. Despite the well-established role of nutrition in preventing and managing metabolic disease, clinicians often face challenges translating dietary guidelines into realistic, patient-centered strategies due to barriers such as cost, food access, time constraints, and patient adherence.
This session will address the gap between nutrition science and clinical implementation. Participants will review key factors that impact the effectiveness of nutrition counseling and learn how to prioritize high-impact dietary interventions that support metabolic health while remaining feasible for diverse patient populations. Emphasis will be placed on simplifying nutrition communication, identifying and addressing common barriers, and applying a structured, repeatable framework within routine clinical encounters.
Through case-based examples, learners will explore how to adapt nutrition recommendations to individual patient contexts, improving adherence and clinical outcomes. This activity is intended for pharmacists, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of cardiometabolic conditions.
