Activity Overview
This webinar featuring Sumit Verma, MD, of Emory University School of Medicine, will cover the core clinical features and patient-specific phenotypes of BMD, explore the impact of gene-modifying and replacement therapies for related neuromuscular diseases on the BMD treatment landscape, and will explore challenging diagnostic and management scenarios using case examples.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for an audience of nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physicians, physician associates.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
Recognize symptoms of and use testing modalities to differentially diagnose BMD from other conditions that present similarly.
Review clinical experience guidelines and recommended practices for managing BMD.
Utilize collaboration and communication between healthcare providers from different specialties (e.g., neurology, PT/OT, speech/swallow evaluation, etc.) to ensure coordinated care for patients with BMD.
Incorporate recent advances in clinical studies into patient care and provide guidance to patients on the benefit of and the opportunities for participation in BMD research.
Criteria for Success
To obtain a certificate of completion, a score of 70% or better on the post-test is required.
