Target Audience
This activity is designed for an audience of physicians, physician associates, nurses and pharmacists.
Learning Objectives
Session 1 – Cardiogenetics: NICM / Inherited Arrhythmias
- Identify clinical features that warrant suspicion for inherited cardiomyopathies or arrhythmia syndromes and describe the appropriate indications, logistics, and patient referral pathways for genetic testing.
Session 2 – Advancing Practice
- Evaluate emerging applications of artificial intelligence and novel imaging modalities and discuss their potential to improve diagnostic accuracy and clinical workflow in cardiovascular practice.
Session 3 – Pericarditis
- Apply updated diagnostic criteria for pericarditis and incorporate current evidence-based treatment strategies, including newer therapeutic options, into the management of patients with acute and recurrent pericarditis.
Session 4 – Innovative Practice
- Assess the safety and feasibility of outpatient sotalol initiation and summarize the clinical implications of key cardiovascular trials from 2025, including REBOOT, RHEIA, VESALIUSCV, and ALONE-AF.
62nd Annual Carl J. Wiggers Memorial Lecture – GLP-1s
- Articulate the multifaceted cardiovascular effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists and integrate current evidence regarding their cardiometabolic benefits and risks into shared decision-making with patients.
