The North & South Carolina Chapters of the American College of Cardiology are state chapters of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), is a nonprofit medical professional society and teaching institution dedicated to fostering optimal cardiovascular care and disease prevention through professional education, promotion of research, and leadership in the development of standards and formulation of health care policy. The chapters serve as a conduit for the flow of information to and from the membership and national organization. 
The SC/NC Chapters of the ACC Annual Meeting is a joint meeting with the North Carolina Chapter of the ACC. The Annual Meeting is a three-day Friday – Sunday format.

This activity supports the cardiovascular team's evolving scope and highlights common cardiology issues while emphasizing the importance and effectiveness of team-based care. Attendees will include cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, technicians, nurse practitioners, PAs, nurses, program administrators, and guests traveling from across the Carolinas and beyond.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate advances in cardiac electrophysiology and device therapy, including conduction system pacing, leadless technology, and post-procedural antithrombotic management, and apply these innovations to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Differentiate diagnostic and management strategies for complex cardiovascular conditions, such as SCAD, MINOCA, resistant hypertension, and cardiac amyloidosis, using current evidence-based approaches.
  • Integrate emerging therapies and technologies in cardiovascular care, including cardiac neuromodulation, transcatheter valve interventions, and advanced imaging modalities (e.g., cardiac CT), into clinical decision-making.
  • Assess contemporary approaches to prevention and chronic disease management, including lipid management, inflammation, and evolving treatment paradigms in pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary embolism.
  • Apply patient-centered, multidisciplinary strategies to advanced cardiovascular disease, including determining when to pursue aggressive therapies versus palliative approaches in complex cases.
