2026 Austin People + Purpose + Power (P3) HIV Symposium

The 2026 Austin People + Purpose + Power (P3) HIV Symposium is a free, one-day educational program designed for HIV care and prevention providers, public health professionals, program staff, Planning Council representatives, community partners, and people with lived experience of HIV. The symposium features evidence-informed presentations, panel discussions, and collaborative learning focused on current approaches to HIV prevention, treatment, quality improvement, care coordination, and community engagement.

Participants will examine emerging practices, strategies to strengthen access to care, and approaches to improving health outcomes across the HIV care continuum. The program promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, responsible stewardship of public health resources, and the application of evidence-informed, person-centered practices that support high-quality care, strengthen the HIV workforce, and improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for an audience of physicians, nurses, physician assistants, social workers, clinic administrators, patients and other healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe recent advances in HIV treatment and prevention and their implications for clinical practice. 
  • Recognize emerging HIV treatment options and non-medical factors affecting health outcomes.
  • Apply patient-centered communication and culturally responsive approaches that strengthen engagement in care.
  • Describe frameworks for identifying barriers to HIV care engagement.
  • Identify practical strategies to improve retention and re-engagement across the HIV care continuum.
  • Recognize the value of multidisciplinary care teams and community partnerships in improving patient outcomes.
  • Integrate evidence-informed, whole-person care approaches that address clinical, behavioral, and social needs.
